Mark Sternman – Chief of Staff

As Chief of Staff, Mark Sternman manages the operations of Senator Keenan’s office, in addition to working on policy, communications, and the budget. He has also worked for two other state Senators and two Members of Congress. Mark has an A.B. from Dartmouth College and an M.I.A. from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs.


Emerson Gagnon – Legislative Director

As Legislative Director, Emerson Gagnon leads the development of policy positions and oversees all legislative initiatives on behalf of the Senator. He previously worked as an Aide in the Massachusetts House of Representatives for several years. He graduated from the University of Vermont with a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science.


Doreen Bargoot – Constituent Services & District Director

As a longtime resident of the Wollaston area of Quincy, Doreen Bargoot brings a wealth of local experiences and knowledge to her role as Constituent Services & District Director.  Providing immediate, empathetic assistance to constituents is a hallmark of Doreen’s commitment to resolving issues.  Her knowledge of and connection to the people, places and pulse of the Norfolk & Plymouth District positions Doreen with unmatched care and concern for neighbor.

Magnolia McComish – Communications Director

As Communications Director, Magnolia McComish serves as the primary point of contact for state and local journalists, and ensures information on what Senator Keenan is working on reaches his constituents. She drafts and distributes press releases, and creates engaging social media and digital content. Magnolia holds a B.A. in Communications from Franklin Pierce University and is pursuing a master’s in public administration at Suffolk University.

Elizabeth Duffin – Legislative Aide

As a Legislative Aide, Elizabeth Duffin assists with scheduling, constituent services, and the manages Senator Keenan’s intern program. A lifelong resident of Braintree, she brings a strong connection to the district. Elizabeth graduated from Saint Anselm College with a Bachelor of Arts in Politics and was highly involved with the New Hampshire Institute of Politics, where she promoted civic engagement initiatives and assisted in preparation for the New Hampshire presidential primary.
