UMass Boston’s Interim Chancellor Katherine Newman released a letter stating that the campus will remain remote in the fall, calling it “the safest alternative given the pandemic we must deal with.” The Interim Chancellor noted that infection rates are rising in states that are opening up and that community members commute to campus from some areas that are most vulnerable to the effects of COVID-19.
