BOSTON – The City of Quincy was recently named among 80 municipalities and organizations across Massachusetts awarded grants through the state’s Office of Travel and Tourism.

The $99,000 going to Quincy will help pay for a variety of initiatives intended to promote and increase tourism in the city, including new visitor guides highlighting local businesses and attractions. A portion of the funds will also be used to create an updated website and pay for digital marketing campaigns for the USS Salem and the United States Naval Shipbuilding Museum.

A total of $4 million in funds were distributed through the state’s Travel & Tourism Recovery Grant program, which is supported through the FY22 budget and the state’s Tourism Trust Fund. This competitive grant program is intended to support the state’s tourism industry in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.
