Working with the offices of Rep. Bruce Ayers and Rep. Tacky Chan, we have been trying to get as much new information as possible on the status of street lights along Quincy Shore Drive. We were recently sent an update from National Grid explaining the timeline of the work.

According to one of their spokesmen, National Grid crews completed the installation of all cable and wiring for this project on this past Friday and Saturday.

As of this Tuesday (Oct. 12), National Grid estimates that there are four to five days of work left to erect the streetlights and get them operational.

Work crews are scheduled to be out on Quincy Shore Drive on Thursday and Friday this week to begin the next stage of the project, weather permitting. Crews may also be out working on Saturday, Oct. 16, however National Grid noted that rain forecasted for that day could prevent work from taking place.

National Grid said it expects its crews will have completed work on the project by the week of Oct. 24.
